THE MISTERY OF CREATING ART

About 10 years ago a young student in my 'creative drawing class' made this spectacularly clever collage using cutouts from magazines and a charcoal pencil. -- Notice the skillful rendering of arms and hands, and the detail on the index finger, where the young artist placed a blue fingerprint!

ABOUT THE PORTRAIT DRAWING WORKSHOP

Workshop didn't happen, but Cindy posed

for me anyway and I am grateful to her for

that. The result was this charming

watercolor sketch. Cindy said that it

reminded her of Alice in Wonderland,

and I agreed.

ABOUT MY PAINTINGS

I like close-ups of my paintings.

They are impressive, because my

"careless impasto" only appears to

be careless. I paint with flawless abandon;

there is music in my brush, as if I were

a virtuoso orchestra conductor.

IF YOU HAVE NOTHING MORE TO SAY, PAINT!

Bad paintings or good paintings, there is always a story behind them. This one has its own story: It was painted in a hurry, perhaps in 20 minutes. The day was coming to an end:
It was  May, in a room with a big complex window. The world outside the window had a promise of yet another spectacular evening sky to show. The painter was a female, age 55 and of European heritage, with blue-gray eyes and fake blond hair. She brought a loaf of sour dough bread, placed it on a gray table and sliced off a few uneven pieces with a white plastic knife, then gave the fresh aromatic treats to her students to eat. She had a slice to satisfy her hunger and washed it down with some not so good coffee from the snack bar. Gardenia, leak and bread trio is pictured here, but the bunch of red beets needs explanation... they are also here. But can you believe me?

THIS MORNING A BIRD,  AND THEN ANOTHER BIRD SANG BEAUTIFUL SONGS OF HAPPINESS IN PARADISE. THEY WERE FLYING FLIGHTS OF FREEDOM AND PRAISING
THE SUN IN THE SKY  WITH THEIR BEAUTIFUL VOICES WHEN PERCHING ON THIS TREE.

It Was Cold this Morning

It Was Cold this Morning. And I bought a plain bagel. That brown thing under my arm is my bagel in a paper bag.

RAIN

IT WAS RAINING. I HAD COFFEE AND YELLOW TROPICAL FRUIT IN THE CAR.
THE SONG ON THE RADIO WAS ABOUT RAIN.
I LIKED THE RAIN DROPS ON THE WINDOW AND MIRROR.  I REMEMBER HOW I FELT
AND HOW EVERYTHING LOOKED FRESH.
THE BLUE-GRAY TONES BRING AROMA OF RAIN AND ALL THE TROUBLES OF THE WORLD  DISAPPEAR AGAIN.

I DECIDED THAT IT'S TIME TO SAY GOODBYE HERE ON THE PAGES OF THIS PUBLICATION. I HAD SOME GOOD TIMES HERE POSTING MY PHOTOGRAPHS, PICTURES OF MY DRAWINGS, PAINTINGS, COLLAGES, PHOTOS OF MY FAMILY, PETS, MY GARDEN, AND OTHER THINGS AND EVENTS THAT WERE IMPORTANT TO ME. I THINK THAT MY BLOG IS NOT WORTH CONTINUING... I REALLY OUGHT TO BE DOING OTHER THINGS, LIKE MAKING MONEY, GETTING A FULL TIME JOB, PRODUCING MORE ARTWORK THAT SALES. ART FOR THE SAKE OF SOME IMAGINARY CONCEPT DIDN'T WORK FOR ME. THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFULL TIME, WHILE IT LASTED!
