AFTERNOON AT SEA
"Afternoon at Sea"
July 8, 2010; 12x9", watercolor & mixed media on paper
I had to edit this post, because I really started hating this painting;
I have been color balancing this photo of it - trying to get the "real"
colors, and finally realized that it's just a sketch on old watercolor paper
with yellowish/peachy tint. So I finally left it alone, but not before deleting the previous photo and replacing it with this one -- the original flash photo taken
last night at the sight where this trouble maker seascape was completed.
I declare: seascapes are not easy subject to paint. The digital photo that this
troubled little watercolor sketch was made from is so beautiful. I am posting it at Cabbage Rules my Universe site.

LILAC LADY
She wasn't one of the unlucky ones that ended up in the garage. Lilac Lady enjoyed relatively comfortable existence since her creation in 1997. For a while She was displayed in the living room by the main entrance. She was even entered once in the prestigious art competition (Hortt 39.) She was never exposed to the heat and humidity of the summer air; She spent her life in Florida in an air conditioned environment. She exists because of her creator's love for lilac blossoms. And now she is for sale. How tragic! I hope she will forgive me. Who knows, maybe her new predicament will lead to a more fulfilling existence.
