CUP OF ROSES

Part of the Story of My Life is that I like
Photography as an art form. Years ago
I attended a photographic art exhibit in Poland,
somewhere near Warsaw -- and I promise to
refresh my memory, so I can remember
the name of the town. -- One of the exhibiting
artists was a young man, whose
photographs stirred the audience; there was
a talk about him and his dried roses
 -- they were unusually beautiful.
My friend and I approached the artist
and exchanged a few words with him.
And that was that.
Except, that 34 years later I still remember
those photographs of dried roses.

MEMORY REFRESHER

I would like to reprint here an old story from the "Cabbage Rules My Universe" site. This story, tilted "Watch Repairman's Daughter" is important to me. I have been thinking about writing a book for children with my own illustrations for some time now. My blogs helped me realise that my story is interesting enough, and that I would like to tell it and turn it into a book not for children only. My inspiration for this project is the life story of Hans Christian Andersen.

Time Travel - 1927

Grandma Karolina and Grandpa Franciszek were both born in the year 1896.
The men wore funny bathing suits then, and cars looked like horse carriages.
I don't have any photos of my own from that era. I can only imagine what my grandparents lived like. But I have an idea about the car that was made in America in 1927, the year that my mom Helena was born: I am presenting here my very own sketch of 1927 Chevrolet Peddler Wagon.

MAGIC

As a teen photographer I wanted to perform a magic trick
using my montage skills, and this is a detail of my art.
As a magician, I 've been performing for many audiences,
and after more than thirty years of practice, I can tell you
that nothing can beat Dreams.  Athough Apparitions can
be very strong and puzzling too, they often can be
explained with an image that the camera produces;
But as far as the Dream goes, especially the Vivid
Dream, no magic trick can translate it. Nothing can.
Period.
